How To Make The QUARANTINI!A Drink During Quarantine

During this difficult time, we sometimes need a little something at the end of the day. To help get through this trying time, Tinley Park Dad has developed the quarantini.

Ingredients For Your Quarantini

To make this drink you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Vodka
  • Any Juice or Fruit Puree (cranberry works the best)
  • Lemon or Lime (your preference)

We’re in quarantine so the a list is not long. Making due with what we have is the inception of this cocktail. Your quarantini will be different from anybody else’s. Since a lot of stores are having difficulty stocking up their shelves, make due with what’s available and most importantly have fun!

How to Mix Your Quarantini

First, the main rule of this drink is no ice. We don’t want to dilute this with water at all. Ensure that your alcohol (vodka, gin, champagne, etc.) and juice (or fruit puree) components are chilling in the refrigerator so they are as cool as possible. For a really cool cocktail, you can also put your glass in the refrigerator to cool. Just use a regular glass; no need to be fancy here.

  1. Mix 1 part alcohol with 3 parts juice. Stir well.

If you chose gin as your alcohol ingredient, I recommend adding a squeeze of lime. If you chose vodka, add a squeeze of lemon.

The Critical Element: Garnish the Quarantini with the crayon that your child last used to draw on the walls (or whatever you have on hand that captures the torture method they used that day.
Unfortunately all the crayons in our house had been crushed by our daughter by the time I wrote this blog post, hence the photoshopped green crayon above.

Enjoy The Quarantini With Your Family

As you settle in for the evening with your quarantini in hand, make sure the ambience is right. You’ll need the soundtrack of your screaming child(ren) and/or crying baby, with the children’s movie you’ve watched 4 times already today to give the room that extreme boost of accoustics. And don’t forget to asking your spouse or significant other existential questions while they are trying to work on something. You don’t want them to feel left out as you both try to do something special for yourselves.

For more adventurous people, you can “bar hop” from room to room as you drink. Traveling from Los Bedroom to La Kítchena, or admire the majesty of the land of “the office;” it’s always nice to have a change of scenery from the living room. For those with wanderlust, who really want to travel —go up or down a floor in your home to get that “getting away from it all” feel.

Coronavirus Drinking Game Idea

Every time you hear the word corona or coronavirus or COVID-19, take a shot or sip of some type of alcoholic beverage. And the word can’t from the news.

I hope this has been helpful. Cheers! And as always, drink responsibly.
