Tinley Park Parents of kids under 10 heads up: VJA High School (Victor J. Andrew) in Tinley Park is having a 5K Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, October 2, 2022—and kids under 10 can participate for free! If they’d like to get a race day t-shirt though, that is extra ($10).

The kids dash starts at 8:30 AM and all family members are welcome to participate. There’s a post-run party with snacks and a raffle (additional tickets available for purchase).

Proceeds from the race event will help fund activities sponsored by the VJA Wellness Committee and the Junior Class Council.

The official name of the event is The Thunder Rolls 5K Fun Run/Walk and is not a chip-timed race—it’s for fun, so feel free to bring your own timing device.

“This is a fun run designed for individuals and families to get up and moving and enjoying each other’s company. The race course is on sidewalks. This race will take place, rain or shine.”
