Planning for the very popular tropical-themed Downtown Tinley Block Party is in full swing for Sunday, July 18, 2021 from Noon – 7:00 PM. This event takes place along Oak Park Avenue from 171st Street to the train tracks. Fun rides including a pirate ship, swings, Frog Hopper and giant slide will be enjoyed along with mini-golf, inflatable games and more. Entertainment will also include four bands on two stages and luau shows. Admission and almost every attraction is free for attendees. New this year, the Block Party will include a “Taste of Tinley” with all food menu items being $4 or less. Taste of Tinley, not a bad alliteration, fits the event to a “T” too. ? And afterall, no one ever said Chicago is the only place to taste great food. In fact, what I’ve learned over the course of my living in Tinley for 7 years is that a lot of restauranteers and chefs come out to the suburbs because of how expensive it is to rent a restaurant downtown. In many cases, the best kept gems are out here in the suburbs and the Chicago Southland is seeing an uptick in a more diverse ethnic food profile.

But in order to make this FIRST Taste of Tinley great, it’s the the Block Party vendors that its success hinges on. If your business is interested in participating in being a part of the first “Taste of Tinley“, and you are a food and/or beverage provider, please click here for more information.

The Downtown Tinley Block Party has continuously attracted approximately 15,000 people throughout the seven hours. Tinley Park Businesses now have the exclusive opportunity to be a sponsor of this event until May 20th when it will be opened up to all businesses. There are sponsorships for every budget from Presenting Sponsor to Attraction Sponsor. Click here for more information. Please email Vicki Sanchez for sponsorship availability as some have limited quantities (particularly the Presenting and Stage Sponsors).
