Enhancing Grocery Delivery Service with Quality and Variety, Through The Human Element

Christy Avery is the owner of a local grocery and delivery service that aims to make life easier for residents of Tinley Park, Orland Hills, Orland Park, Homewood, Flossmoor, Oak Forest, and Park Forest. Especially busy families and anyone looking for convenience and savings.

The pandemic in many ways normalized the concept of grocery delivery, and it certainly forced many grocery brands to step up their game. But the middlemen and women who are being dispatched through the apps of these grocers are who make or break this modernized system of convenience. What I think we’re seeing with individuals like Christy Avery is a maturing of this new medium for grocery shopping. This entrepreneurship in the grocery delivery space is making sure that the people on both sides of the transactions are treated right. Let’s learn more from someone who knows more about this than me.

Interview with Christy Avery, Founder of New Chicago Southland Grocery Food Delivery Business ‘At My Doorstep’

What Sets Your Business A Part From Mainstream Services like DoorDash and Instacart?

I don’t charge membership fees, and I support the use of your store loyalty programs and coupons at places like Jewel-Osco and Mariano’s. This means you can save money on every order! With a focus on five-diamond customer service, I ensure a seamless and pleasant experience. From school supplies to pet needs and vacation planning, I’m here to handle it all.

I also provide special services for local senior buildings, including Edenbridge in Tinley Park and Thomas Place in Orland Park. At Hanover Place, I host monthly grocery presentations to connect with and support our senior residents.

What Inspired You to Start At My Doorstep?

I decided to open my own grocery and delivery business because I love engaging with people and offering exceptional service. I have the gift of gab and enjoy meeting customers from various backgrounds, learning what makes them happy, and going above and beyond to meet their needs. Whether it’s for office supplies, home essentials, pet care, or holiday shopping, providing a personalized service is what drives me. This passion inspired me to start my own business.

What Are Your Thoughts on the Future of Personalized Shopping Services?

I see a promising future for personalized shopping services. As people increasingly value the personal touch, genuine human interaction, and customized experiences, they are likely to opt for services that go beyond the impersonable-nature, and generic offerings of big box store delivery apps. Personalized services cater to unique needs and preferences, creating a more satisfying and convenient shopping experience. The future looks bright for customer-focused businesses that prioritize personal connections and exceptional service.

Do You Have A Favorite Store You Work With or Shop At For Clients?

Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite stores to shop at for my grocery delivery service. Their diverse product range, from fresh produce to unique snacks and frozen meals, ensures that I can meet the varied preferences of my customers. Trader Joe’s commitment to quality and affordability makes it a top choice for providing exceptional service. Every trip to Trader Joe’s allows me to deliver delightful and satisfying grocery experiences to my customers.
