Review of Darlene’s – Orland Park Breakfast and Brunch Restaurant
We had the Tinley Park Moms Book Club meeting this month at Darlene’s, for brunch and it was soo good that it behooves me to sing its praises.
A) Food Delicious, Portions Beyond Generous — I couldn’t eat for the rest of the day, and that was a good thing. ? I ordered the French Toast with a side of sausage links.
B) Drinks are Strong and Excellent — I ordered two Son of Peacherman (like a bellini but stronger). It had a peach gummy ring at the bottom that was soaked in vodka before being placed in the glass. Now that is a drink well thought out.
C) Service Was Stress Free — splitting our check Btn 6 moms was the opposite of complicated or cumbersome. Our server Megan was intune with us and when it came time for the bill, she made it easy for us to pay at the table and not get ripped off.
D) Atmosphere and Decor — Beautiful interior, in keeping with it’s branding, there was white and gold floral tile for some of the walls. And light grey trendy wood walls as well. Modern yet elegant, luxurious but with hints of that early 20th century Chicago industrial touches. Noice level was pretty bustling, so not ideal for a book club discussion, but so perfect for getting together with friends.
Darlene’s is the sister restaurant to the popular The White Sheep, also located in Orland Park. Darlene’s is the result of a complete gutting, renovation and rebranding of the The Black Sheep by owners the Pappas Brothers. Jeff Arnold of the Orland Park Patch wrote a comprehensive summary of how the evolution to Darlene’s came about late last year: Darlene’s Pushes Culinary Envelope Behind Familiar Orland Beginnings (Nov. 7, 2023).
