A well-traveled Chicago northsider who was chasing a fast-paced professional life, in one of those tall skyscrapers just off Lake Michigan. Falling in love with someone named Geoffrey Pyrzynski changed my mind and the view I’m enjoying now—just 25 miles southwest of the Loop.
For the past decade I’ve been co-owner of my family’s digital marketing agency, Geoffresh Inc. and swimming in a simple life in Tinley Park. Squeezing in a bit of independent writing and community building.
To save people time and challenge the notion that the Chicago Southland lacks excitement.
As someone new to the area who grew up traveling, I wanted my daughter and our family to feel rooted in our community. Hence, I was inspired to become knowledgeable about local history and hidden gems of what would be our hometown. Often overlooked even by lifelong residents like my husband!
With the rise of the “mom blog,” I thought why not share my notes online, to save others time too? Especially since mainstream outlets weren’t covering this area much at all. Using my marketing and PR background, I knew I could amplify the unique stories and little-known places to a broader audience. And so I started TinleyParkMom.com. A space where the Chicago Southland community’s rich tapestry and people can truly shine—and be discovered!
In the process, I hope that the information I share inspires exploration of what’s right in our own backyard. And fosters connection between the surrounding communities.
The Tinley Park Mom Blog Today
Since I started the blog back in May 2018, it’s gone beyond just being a time-saving resource for locals. Guest writers contribute articles, I get to interview really cool people, and my husband Geoff even likes to contribute his recipes!
The blog has afforded me experiences and opportunities such as interviewing cool people, being on a podcast, being interviewed by several publications, and becoming a freelance writer for publications. It has given me a second chance at pursuing my passion for storytelling, justifying that writing isn’t a waste of time. Maybe one day, I’ll be blessed to write books.
The Tinley Park Moms Facebook Group
I created this Facebook group out of a desire to help women like me connect with each other, better and faster. Making friends in a new town can be a challenge and I wanted to address that intrinsic need to belong for Tinley Park moms aswell.
As of April 16, 2025 the Tinley Park Moms Facebook Group has 3,400 members! We share, learn from, and inspire each other, and if you’re a mom reading this, who lives in Tinley Park, we’d love to have you. Grandmothers and single gals are welcome too!
Use the hashtag #tinleyparkmoms to be featured and heard.
